Organized by Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in partnership with the Center for Philanthropy Studies of Basel (CEPS), in association for the first time with the Centre in philanthropy of Geneva University (UNIGE), the training in foundation management, renamed Master Class, took place from 12 to 14 November 2018 in Geneva, and brought together 24 participants.
Sonia Perrenoud, coordinator of the project, confirms the enthusiasm of the participants and the pragmatism of the speakers, while underlining the complementarity of the attendees, balanced between foundations representative and professionals of the financial and legal sector. The diversity of profiles and the implication of each permitted an excellent collective dynamic, allowing constructive and testimonies, exchanges and synergies.
The two days courses based on experts‘ intervention in philanthropy, in domains as varied as complementary, from governance and law on foundations to the impact issues and challenges, but also the current trends in philanthropy and the rise of „NextGen“. The course is intended to focus on the acquisition of practical tools and skills in the special field of generosity.
The participants unanimously declared themselves better equipped to address the challenges and opportunities in the field of philanthropy, and today they are all the more aware of the professionalism it requires.
“ Through a combination of moments dedicated to theoretical basis, to the study of practical cases and to interactions between the participants, we wished to offer a unique advanced training, which addresses in transparency the consequences of the societal changes on the practice of philanthropy.
