The 2018 edition of the Philanthropy Forum was a great success as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the 200 participants present at two public round tables. Addressing the issues of transmission and education, these exchanges illustrated the role of music and philanthropy through the enriching testimony of the speakers.
The initiave „A Violin in my School“ supported by the Vareille Foundation and the Canton of Valais, as well as the activities of the Crescendo Musica Foundation, presented music education as a real tool for social integration. During the round table on the transmission, Marina Mahler, granddaughter of the composer Gustav Mahler, returned to the role of music in her life and how she works today to convey what she received: „the True heritage to be transmitted is cultural and intellectual, not material. It is urgent to worry about it „. In an interactive and personal perspective, the debates have reinforced existing learning, while opening up new frameworks for reflection.
