Lukas von Orelli, President of SwissFoundations since 2016, will hand over his mandate to Sabrina Grassi, a member of the Board since 2020, at the General Assembly on 6 June 2023. At the same time, the Board of SwissFoundations is being reorganised.
The reorganisation of the Board was initiated in view of the current size of SwissFoundations and the growing challenges in the environment and dynamic development of the philanthropy sector and is intended to be a modern and agile reorganisation. An essential element of this new organisation is a “primus inter pares” presidency in order to be able to fully concentrate on the presidential tasks. In addition, it will change every year. In addition, the individual members of the Board will in future be integrated into committees in order to make better use of their individual experience and expertise.
Sabrina Grassi is the first president to be appointed as part of this reorganisation. As Managing Director of Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, she represents one of the pillars of the foundation sector. She has been a member of the SwissFoundations board since 2020 and was elected to the co-vice presidency in 2021.
For almost thirteen years, Lukas von Orelli has left his mark on the association as a member of the board and, in particular, since his election as president in 2016. He will remain a member of the SwissFoundations Board until the end of his mandate.
