Swiss Philanthropy Foundation activates its Rapid Response Fund for Lebanon

Following the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, which have caused more than 1,000 victims and 1 million internally displaced people since the beginning of the conflict (UN OCHA), Swiss Philanthropy Foundation is activating its Rapid Response Fund.

The objective is to collect a maximum of donations of an individual amount of at least CHF 10,000, initiated by an initial donation of CHF 20,000 from Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in order to promote co-financing.

This Fund will support local NGOs known and rigorously selected by WISE Philanthropy Advisors, mandated by the Foundation, which act for emergency humanitarian aid and psychosocial support for children. The selection criteria guarantee the effectiveness and impact of the projects supported.

Currently, the emergency in Lebanon is to support internally displaced families who have been welcomed and housed in social centers or schools in Beirut and Maten (Mount Lebanon). These people are currently not receiving any assistance.

The Rapid Response Fund plan is to support approximately 1,500 people with primarily food but also non-food relief items (NFI); as well as to also provide psychosocial support (PSS) activities for children in these secure centers to mitigate the impact of the trauma they are experiencing.

Our commitment: rapid action where the needs are most urgent and a guarantee of the impact of your donation.
