Rapid Response Fund for Lebanon: CHF 275,000 received and two NGOs supported

Following the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, which have caused more than 1,000 victims and 1 million internally displaced people since the beginning of the conflict (UN OCHA), Swiss Philanthropy Foundation activated its Rapid Response Fund on 1st October 2024

The objective is to collect a maximum of donations of an individual amount of at least CHF 10,000, initiated by an initial donation of CHF 20,000 from Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in order to promote co-financing.

This Fund supports local NGOs known and rigorously selected by WISE Philanthropy Advisors, mandated by the Foundation, which act for emergency humanitarian aid and psychosocial support for children. The selection criteria guarantee the effectiveness and impact of the projects supported.

Thanks to the generous donations amounting CHF 275,000 collected to date, two projects were set up with the local NGOs INSAN and Arc-en-ciel to support 5,270 vulnerable people (babies, children and adults) over a period of 3 months.

Displaced persons benefit from the activities of the two organizations to cover their most immediate needs:

1. Distribution of food (including hot meals) to displaced families, non-food essential items and medicines (2,170 people)

2. Provision of specific equipment for people with disabilities and for three reception centers (250 people)

3. Psychosocial support services for 2,850 displaced children through fun and educational activities to help ease the tense situation in which they find themselves

Our commitment: rapid action where the needs are most urgent and a guarantee of the impact of your donation.
